Flaming Arrow District Roundtable

August 13, 2026 |  7:00 pm

roundtableRoundtable is a district monthly meeting typically held the second Thursday of the month (except July) at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church (2929 Woodland Hills Drive, Kingwood 77339) at 7:00 pm to help unit leaders plan and carry out their own program. Roundtable is a form of supplemental training for volunteers. The objective of roundtable is to give leaders program ideas, information on upcoming events and trainings, and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. As a result of the roundtable experience, unit leaders will be inspired, motivated, informed, and able to provide a stronger program for their Scouts.

Popcorn and Membership Training

PopcornPower your unit's program with our fall popcorn sale. Raise more money with less work in less time! Learn more about the upcoming popcorn sale and how to make sure your unit is successful. Popcorn Kernel Training prepares volunteers to run the annual fundraiser and covers setting unit budgets, tracking inventory, managing the Trail's End portal, and running Scout-focused sales incentives. 

The Fall Recruiting Training teaches pack leaders how to plan sign-up events, market their pack, and effectively engage new families. All pack committee members and volunteers involved with membership recruiting and fundraising are invited. The trainings will be held at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church (2929 Woodland Hills Drive, Kingwood 77339) at 6:30 pm.

 

Trail to Troop

October 23-25, 2026

Webelos WoodsThis is a weekend campout designed to introduce Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts to the many outdoor adventures of Scouting. 

Learn more about the transition to Scouts BSA and information to help assist Arrow of Light Scouts as they make the important decision on which troop to join and questions to ask troops. 

Early-bird fee: RSVP, pay the deposit, and provide estimated registration numbers by August roundtable to receive a special early-bird registration fee for the number of estimated Scouts and adults.

Cuboree

Rocket Day

November 14, 2026

rocket dayYouth who join Cub Scouts this year will receive a rocket that they can design, build, and launch. Youth in kindergarten through fifth grade who are interested in joining Scouting may also attend. We will help you find a pack near you and get signed up for Scouting. 

New Scouts who only want to launch their rocket attend at 2:30 pm. There is no charge to launch your rocket; please RSVP so we will have an engine for your rocket onsite.

Campsgiving

November 21-24, 2025

Campsgiving, held during Thanksgiving break, is the turducken of camps for troops —an three-in-one experience combining a traditional camp (Turkey Camp), STEM Camp, and Mission Lone Star. Whether you're a Scout seeking merit badges, scientific discovery, or high-adventure thrills, there's something here for everyone.

Winter camp is a wonderful opportunity for troops and individual Scouts to camp and earn merit badges and participate in fun evening programs and activities. There are over 80 merit badge classes taught by Scouters with real-life experiences in the field.

Space U Odyssey

July 12-17, 2026

Space U Odyssey is a five-day, hands-on STEM experience inspired by real NASA missions that puts students in the role of NASA scientists, engineers, and astronauts.

Aquatics Summit

August 7-9, 2026

Aquatics Summit is a fun-filled event for Scouts in troops, crews, and ships. Participants attend two merit badge classes.  In addition, there will be opportunities to try climbing and paddleboarding. Sea Scouts and Venturers can participate in survivor-inspired adventures. Troops, crews, and ships can camp for the weekend.

Lifeguard Training

August 14-16 or 28-30, 2026

The American Red Cross lifeguard class teaches participants to recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies through hands-on training in skills like water rescue, First Aid, CPR, and AED use. The program includes a prerequisite swim test and ends with final skills assessments, resulting in a nationally recognized certification that satisfies workplace requirements. The course for Scouts ages 15+ and adults lasts 23-27 hours, comprising both online and in-person components,

Full Throttle

September 18-20, 2026

Full Throttle is a weekend event for Scouts in troops, crews, ships, and individual Scouts. Scouts spend a half-day participating in program areas such as shooting sports, climbing, swimming, ziplining, and boating. Scouts will spend a half-day working on a merit badge. Full Throttle is a great way for Scouts to have fun, learn essential skills that could be useful in a survival scenario, and earn survival-related merit badges.
